Things to be aware of when scanning cards -Please be sure to check!-

Here we will explain some points to be aware of when scanning cards with the Sansan Scanner.
1. Scanning side and language selected
2. If you are scanning business cards from the past
3. Settings for Transcribe Both Sides
4. Noteworthy patterns that occur when digitized

For how to photograph cards with the Sansan Smartphone Application, see here:

1. Scanning side and language selected

Set the side of the card you would like to be digitized so it is facing you, select the input language, and then scan. Please make sure that the language of the card on the side facing you and the input language selected are the same.

2. If you are scanning business cards from the past

If you know the date the card was received: Use the Calendar icon to select the date.
If you do not know the date the card was received: Select "Unknown".
If a handwritten date is on the card: Select " Use handwritten dates first".
Example: Card with handwritten date
* Please write dates so that the day, month, and year can be understood. If only something like "2/7" is written, with only the month and date, the date received will not be input.

3. Settings for Transcribe Both Sides

In the regular scanning mode, both sides of the business cards will be scanned, but only one side will be digitized.
If you would like to use the data on both sides of the card (for example if you would like data in Japanese and in English), then please scan in Transcribe Both Sides mode.

*Caution
When scanning in Transcribe Both Sides mode, each card will be counted as two cards. Please be aware that if you exceed the limit for card scanning in your contract, extra charges will be incurred. When scanning in both-side input mode, even if the back of the card is blank, it will be counted.
Data for both the Japanese side of the card and for the English side of the card, two cards, will be made.

When this can be used
When there are users who use English.
When it is necessary to have the mailing address in English.
1. Doing settings from the Tablet PC
To use Transcribe Both Sides mode, go to the "Advanced", and turn on "Transcribe Both Sides".
* How to set Transcribe Both Sides mode as the default
From "Menu", go to "Settings". In "Scan Mode Settings", turn on the default.
2. Scanning business cards
There is no change in how business cards are scanned. Scan each card only once without worrying which side is the front.

4. Noteworthy patterns that occur when digitized

Handwritten dates
When scanning with "Use handwritten dates first" selected, only the side with the handwritten date on it will have the date received transcribed.
Business cards where both-sides act as one set
In cases like these, we recommend scanning in regular mode, not in Transcribe Both Sides mode.
*Cards that were not input can be checked in Sansan under "Unreadable Cards".
