Manually switching from ScanSnap Manager to ScanSnap Home

Uninstall ScanSnap Manager

1. Tap “Power" in the scanner app menu.

 

2. Select "Close App".

 

3. Tap the Windows icon in the middle of the taskbar at the bottom and select "All apps". Then select "Settings" from the gear icon.

 

4. Open “Apps" "Installed apps". Select "Uninstall" from the "ScanSnap Manager" three-point reader.

 

5. Select "Uninstall" on the screen that shows, "This app and its related info will be uninstalled. If you see, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” select “Yes”.

 

6. When you see, "Do you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its features?” select “OK”.

 

7. Restart the tablet PC after the uninstallation is complete.

 

ScanSnap Manager is now uninstalled.

 

Install ScanSnap Home

1. Tap “Power" in the scanner app menu.

 

2. Select "Close App".

 

3. Tap the browser icon at the bottom of the screen.

 

4. To help the download process, a link to this page is provided in the home screen of your tablet’s browser. Tap the "Go here to see how to manually switch to ScanSnap Home" link in the red frame to see it directly on your tablet.

**This work does not require downloading the scanner app, so please do not tap "Download" on the screen; just tap the link in the red frame.

 

5. Tap this link to access the Ricoh website:

When the "ScanSnap Home Offline Installer 2.22.0 Setup Program" page appears, download WinSSHOfflineInstaller_2_22_0.exe.

 

6. Press and hold the downloaded .exe file to show the right-click menu and run it as an admin. If you see, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” select "Yes". It may take a few minutes to launch.

 

7. On the "END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT" screen, check "Agree to the terms of service" and select "Next".

 

8. On the "Welcome to ScanSnap Home Setup” screen, select “Next”.

 

9. On the "Setup Type" screen, select "Typical" and then "Next".

 

10. On the "Installation settings selected" screen, select "Install".

 

11. Wait for the installation to complete. This may take a few minutes.

 

12. After installation is complete, connect the scanner and tablet PC via USB to connect using ScanSnap Home. If working with the USB connection active, the connection will be made automatically. Confirm that "Connection is complete" is shown.

 

13. If you see, "Video Tutorial", select “Skip".

 

14. If you see, "Product Registration", select "Later".

 

15. Tap the “x” to close the ScanSnap Home window.

 

16. Launch the scanner app from the ScannerApp icon on the desktop.

The switch to ScanSnap Home is now complete.

 

After switching, you may see, "Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of this app” (about ScanSnap Home) when scanning cards.
If this happens, check "Private networks" and "Public networks" and select "Allow access".
