Q. Can non-users of Sansan exchange Virtual Cards?
A. Non-users can download the business card image (jpg format) or a file in vCard format for the card they receive.
They can also return their own card when they receive a Virtual Card. For details, see "If you are not a Sansan user" on
this page.
Q. What image file formats can non-users of Sansan receive?
A. Only jpg format is currently available.
Q. Can I receive someone's Virtual Card if I haven't set up my own?
A. Yes, you can, but you won't be able to send yours back until you've set it up. We therefore encourage you to set up your own as soon as possible.
Q. If the recipient Sansan user doesn't have the Virtual Cards function turned on, can we still exchange Virtual Cards?
A. You can send your card, but the other person will not be able to send theirs back to you.
Q. How do I know if the other person has received my card using the URL I sent them?
A. You'll receive a notification when they add your card via the URL.
Q. When a Virtual Card is sent back to me (after I have sent mine), can I choose whether or not to receive it?
A. No, you cannot. The received card will be registered automatically.
Q. How are my received Virtual Cards counted?
A. Whenever the URL is accessed.
Q. When I receive a Virtual Card, does this count toward my monthly scan count?
A. Yes, it counts in the same way as a regular business card scan.
Q. What is the exchange date when exchanging Virtual Cards?
A. This the date that "Add to Sansan contacts" was clicked after accessing the card's URL.
Q. Can I change the expiration date?
A. Yes, if it is not set by the admin.
Q. Can I change the access limit?
A. Yes, if it is not set by the admin.
Q. If the expiration period of the URL or the access count is exceeded, will the URL become invalid?
A. Yes, the URL will automatically be invalidated and you'll need to issue a new one.
Q. Is a Virtual Card one-sided or can I send both sides?
A. You can send the front and back as images.
Q. Can a non-user of Sansan send a double-sided business card image?
A. No, only the image of the front side can be sent.
Q. Can I attach tags at the time of receiving Virtual Cards?
A. No, but you can attach it after digitization is completed. See
here for how to add tags.
Q. How can I know which contacts are from Virtual Cards?
A. In your contacts list, a label will be displayed next to them.
Q. How do I edit the content on a Virtual Card?
A. Please check

Q. If I change the information on my Virtual Card, can I use the same URL I was using before that change?
A. Yes. The URL will always refer to the latest version of your card.
Q. Is Virtual Card exchange only available in Japanese?
A. You can use English or Japanese. If the browser language is English, display will be in English.
Q. Why doesn't the card I want to use appear in the list of candidate cards?
A. It's likely because you're trying to register a card that's not associated with the same username or email address.
Q. How do I set up multiple Virtual Cards?
A. Please note you can only set up one Virtual Card as your own. If you want to use others, you'll need to set up a new one each time you change cards.

Q. Can the system administrator set the URL expiration and access count?

A. No, this restriction cannot be set for individual users or departments.
Q. If I delete a user, what happens to their Virtual Card?
A. The Virtual Card is deleted and the same time as the user, and the URL will become inaccessible.

Q. Is the Virtual Card log output to the usage log?
A. The log is output when a Virtual Card is received, but the operation logs other than for receiving the business cards are not output. See
